Michael Lathrop

Yoga Teacher

is a 200-hour RYT yoga instructor with continuing education in Ayurveda Nutrition. He started yoga over 10 years ago to relieve severe back pain from desk work and long commutes. Not only did yoga transform his body but also his mind. Myk loves how yoga can be done anywhere and is passionate about making it accessible to everyone.

What are you passionate about?
I'm deeply passionate about sustainable living. What's good for the environment is good for us. Yoga is like putting on your own oxygen mask in an airplane emergency before tending to others. I believe that anything we do positive for ourselves puts our best foot forward to do better for the world. In turn, we can create a more sustainable, happy future for everyone.

What are you grateful for?
My close friends and my cats. Chosen families are just as powerful as blood ones, and they're usually more fun! These relationships ground me and remind me what really matters.

What brings you joy?
All animals bring me joy. Watching them in nature without human interference is an honor, and the only time I can have a truly clear mind. When I think of my cats and their basic needs and love, nothing feels more innocent and pure.

What are you proud of?
I'm proud of my glow-up. At 40, I am the healthiest physically I've ever been. I used to hate physical fitness, but yoga was the first practice to draw me in. Now I also weight lift and train Krav Maga, doing something active 6-7 days per week. I never saw that version of myself coming.

Why do you teach?
I started yoga because I had a long commute to work, sat at a desk all day, then sat on a couch all night and slept in weird positions. My body was aching at 25, and I was afraid of a long life with pain. Yoga showed me that a little goes a long way and that there's no endgame. Every day is different, and I love celebrating that. Once my physical ailments subsided, yoga helped me mentally, easing my anxiety and blues. I love spreading that word because not many people are aware of yoga's benefits beyond flexibility.

Anything else you'd like to share?
Yoga is truly for everyone, in every season of life. It can meet you exactly where you are, whether it's on a mat, a chair, at home, in a studio, or anywhere you can take a deep breath. My hope is to help make yoga feel accessible, playful, and supportive, so that over time it becomes second nature.

Isabel Wuerth

Yoga Teacher

Isabel fell in love with yoga and movement in 2019. In 2020, she completed a 200-hour online Yoga Teacher Training so that she could share this practice with others. She is extremely passionate about holistic wellness and loves following the mind-body-spirit approach to healing. In her class, you will be guided through a breath practice, a flowing series of yoga poses, and a closing meditation. The asana [pose] sequence draws from the styles of vinyasa, hatha, and gentle yoga. The use of props is encouraged. You will leave this class with a deeper connection to your body and your intuition.

Laura Knipe

Yoga Teacher

Laura has been practicing yoga for many years, with a passion for yin. Being drawn to the benefits of yin after issues arose from hip and shoulder injuries, it has helped Laura gain self-awareness as well as a deeper understanding and appreciation for the balance of the yin and yang practice. Teaching for just over two years, Laura's classes always incorporate awareness of the breath and safe modifications. No matter the class you can expect some breathwork, lots of child's pose & forward folds, a playlist to match class vibe, and most importantly moving with intention; listening to your body.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about teaching yoga - especially restorative and yin.  I feel a sense of peace during teaching that I’ve never experience in any other form of activity that I’ve done.

What are you grateful for?

My beautiful family and friends! I am grateful for their love and support. Also for my health, and my morning home practice!

What brings you joy?

My nephew is a constant source of joy in my life. Each time I’m with him, I feel like I’m seeing the world through his lens - with this childlike wonder, curiosity and silliness.

What are you proud of?

I am proud of myself for overcoming battles in my life that have led me to where I am today.

Why do you teach  yoga?

I teach yoga because of the joy, love and peace it brings me.  When a student leaves my class smiling and saying “that is exactly what I needed, Laura!”, I’m reminded of why I am here in this role.  One of my favorite past times is diving deeper into books, workshops, conversations, etc.  The other reason I enjoy teaching is that I am always learning new information, techniques, modifications to poses, etc to share with my students.
